「Vice Versa」ってどういう意味？使い方は？

「Vice versa」は英語の文章や、外国人の友人の話で、わりと頻繁に目にしたり耳にしたりしますが、いったいどんな意味なのでしょう？

vice versa /ˌvaɪs ˈvɜː.sə/ は、英語のように見えますが、
実は英語ではなくてラテン語です。
副詞として使われ、通常は直前に「and」または「or」が置かれます。

例文:

The girl is looking at the dolphin, and the dolphin is looking at her, too.
（あの少女はイルカを見ている。そのイルカも少女を見ている。）
The girl is looking at the dolphin, and vice versa.
（あの少女はイルカを見ているし、逆も同様だ。）

The egg comes from the chicken, and the chicken comes from the egg.
（鶏は卵を産み、鶏は卵から生まれる）
