「Maybe」と「Perhaps」の違い｜確信が高いのはどっち？

確信が持てないとき、私たちは「たぶん」と言うことがよくあります。

英語では「maybe」が思い浮かびますよね。では、似たような意味の「perhaps」とは、どのような違いがあるのでしょうか？

maybeもperhapsも副詞で、文中の配置は以下の通りです。
　maybe: 文頭または文末に配置される、主に会話で使われる表現
　perhaps: 文頭、文中、文末に配置される、やや形式ばった表現

例文:

Maybe he will come here tonight. （文頭）
He will come here tonight, maybe. （文末）
Perhaps he will come here tonight. （文頭）
He will, perhaps, come here tonight. （文中）
He will come here tonight, perhaps. （文末）
（たぶん今夜彼はここにくるだろう）
